The EYFS as we know it is changing. A revised edition was published at the end of March 2021 and this will come into effect on 1st September 2021. One of the significant changes is that the assesment age groups are longer rather than cutting down into months as before. It is divided into three sections: 0-3, 3-4 years and reception. A letter with regards to this information was sent out to parents at the beginning of May via our EyLog system. COVID-19:

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

You can use lots of things to make marks as well as your normal writing tools such as crayon, chalks, pencils, pens and paint.
How about making marks in sand with your finger or a stick? Using water and paint brushes to make shapes and letters outside on the ground.
Using sticks and stones to form letters, numbers or shapes. As well as pictures.
